Mexico. This stone 1m 54cms high is known as Altar 5 and is noted for its Olmec 
religious art. The side of the altar has relief carvings depicting chieftans and 
priests. Children are being carried by the figures as part of the religious symbolism. 
The front of the altar has a carving of a figure with a child held on the knees.
