Tiwanaku (Tiahuanaco)
Tiwanaku is a pre-Inca site at 3.850m (12,600ft) above sea level on the Bolivian altiplano, near Lake Titicaca. It developed between AD200 and AD500 at the centre of an empire that extended to the Bolivian lowlands, the Peru coast and northern Chile.
