Suriname. Wooden colonial buildings on Waterkant street, Paramaribo. Originally the houses of merchants, many were rebuilt after the city fires of 1821 and 1832 destroyed a large part of the historic centre of the city.

The inner city of Paramaribo is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
