La Gorda or the 'fat woman' is a bronze sculpture by Fernando Botero, Colombia's best known artist born in Medellin 1932. One of the greatest collections of his work has been gathered by the Museo de Antioquia. It is in a museum and gallery now the focal point of a scheme for urban renewal in Medellin known as Ciudad Botero or Botero City.
