The Salvage of the SS Great Britain
Falkland Islands 1969 - 1970

Divers working at the base of the starboard crack. They were also locating holes made when the ship was scuttled in 1937. The holes were then covered with plywood patches. The extent of the 'drop' of the hull can be seen in the way the wooden sheathing has twisted. The pitch pine sheathing was added in 1882
