Toniná, Mexico. Maya. On the sixth terrace is an enormous mural known as the 'Four Suns', believed to have been created between AD790 and 840. This stucco relief of four panels represents the four suns [eras] of human history according to Mayan belief. The God of Death is seen here with a severed head.
