/ Ñusta Isspana / Chuquepalta, the site is best known for the large white
rock [Yurak Rumi] and spring. It is 22m/ 83ft long and 16m /52.5ft wide.
Its greatest height is 8m / 26ft. It is carved in many places and gives every
sign that it was a major Inca shrine. Later after the last Inca hiding place of
Vilcabamba had been entered and taken by the Spaniards, the rock became a landmark
for the route. |
