Tiwanaku (Tiahuanaco) Bolivia. Dr Carlos Ponce Sangines (1925 - 2005), one time Director of excavations at Tiwanaku and author of over 50 books. He began work on Tiwanaku in the 1950s and discovered the 'Ponce' monolith.
